Sunday before Lent - 14th February 2010
Theme: Love (St Valentine's Day)
1st Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 13
2nd Bible Reading: Luke 6: 27-36
Following these 2 well known readings about love, Canon Dick John (retired priest) speaks about the selfless love of God described well by the Greek word 'Agape'. A love based not on feelings but an attitude of mind and committed to the good of others. A love demonstrated through Jesus and his dying for us on the Cross. The recording then finishes with a brief meditation by Graham Buttanshaw on knowing the love of God for ourselves.

Following the 2 readings Graham Buttanshaw (Vicar of Otley) looks at how we in Otley are to continue the work of Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

- We need to be open to God's Spirit so he can transform us into the likeness of Christ
